2021 Summer Events in Red River to Look Forward To

Summer in Red River has become more popular and busier than the winter season. The warmer weather encourages visitors to spend their time doing outdoor activities such as hiking, riding ROVs, and enjoying all the events that Red River organizes for you! Here are some events that are happening through the end of summer 2021 that you won’t want to miss!

Red River Community House Activities

Daily family activities are offered at the Red River Community House. Nature hikes and walks with your children is a great way to explore our mountain town. There is also line dancing, movies in the mountains, and bingo throughout the weeks! Check out their calendar here for more daily activities.

Enchanted Forest Trail Races

Come out and enjoy the cool mountain weather with a trail race on July 31st. Whether you want to run or cheer on the runners, this event will be one you will remember! After the races have ended, relax with your friends and family with local food and beer as well as live music at the after-party! 

Red River Art and Wine Festival

Red River Art and Wine Festival has always been a guest favorite. Due to the pandemic, the Art and Wine Festival was pushed back to August 6-8 for summer 2021! If you don’t have a place to stay yet, call us today to book your much deserved getaway! You won’t want to miss a weekend in the mountains drinking wine and listening to great music. This event is put on by the Red River Chamber of Commerce for your enjoyment!

Southwest Pickers 46th Annual Bluegrass and Traditional Music Festival

August 13-15 will be a weekend of great music for the whole family. You’ll find live music almost everywhere you go as well as open mic nights for you to showcase your voice! Bring your friends and family and enjoy a music packed weekend and watch the Aspens begin to change color for the fall!

Red Rivers’ 8750 Music and BBQ Festival

Formerly known as the Hot Chili Days Cool Mountain Nights, the 8750 Music and BBQ Festival features the Chili Appreciation cook-off, New Mexico State Green Chili Championship, and Lone Star BBQ cookoff! Whether you’re a foodie that wants to judge the food or you’re thinking about joining in on the competition, this weekend is one of our favorites! In addition to great food there will be live music and concerts by Jason Boldand and the Stragglers, Hayes Carl, and David Beck’s Tejano Weekend. Enchanted Circle Century Bike Tour

Cyclists take on the Enchanted Circle Scenic Byway for one of the most challenging tours in the southwest on August 28th. There is an 85 and 100 mile course that includes climbing, rolling hills, and fast descents. On this course the cyclists will see Red River, Questa, Taos, Angel Fire, and Eagles Nest. If you are into competitive biking, you won’t want to miss this!
