Make Mountain Biking Fun in Red River, NM
There are many ways to enjoy mountain biking and ways to make it fun. You don’t have to think of it as exercising, but more of enjoying the scenery around you.
- Listen to music! Especially if you’re riding alone, listening to music can change your perspective of the ride. Pack a speaker in your backpack or bring along your earphones (only inserting one so you can hear what’s going on around you). Listening to your favorite songs can make the climb go by faster!
- Ride different trails! Try to get out and ride different trails and different bikes so that you don’t get stuck in a rut. Ride on dirt, rock, and road to change it up every so often. If you see others biking the same path maybe you and your fellow riders jump in and ride with new people. This is a great way to make friends with those who enjoy riding just like you. Friendships can spark with mutual activities such as this and you can even learn new things about mountain biking that you didn’t know before. Sitzmark Sports has mountain bikes for rent as well as bike technicians that can answer any questions you may have about bikes or trails in the Red River area.
- Work on your Skills! Before you head out for a ride, practice your skills, or new ones, out in the driveway. Teach yourself how to wheelie, stopping with the front brake only, or do some turning drills. Learning new skills is a great way to have fun and keep yourself wanting to practice and eventually help teach a friend, or learn more yourself.
- Plan a ride and lunch! Red River is an ideal location for going on a ride and enjoying a picnic while out on the mountainous trails. Throw a deck of cards in your bag and play a game while you enjoy your lunch with a gorgeous view.
