What to Expect During Halloween in the Mountains

Halloween in Red River is memorable, to say the least – with trick or treating, a haunted house, costume contests, and the beautiful color-changing landscape throughout town. Get ready to dress up, stuff your face with candy, and scream your lungs off when you book your October stay with us and spend Halloween in Red River!

Trick or Treat in Red River

Walk down Main Street and trick or treat at the local businesses with the kids. You have the option of *walking the street or riding the Miner’s Trolley. If you decide to take the Miner’s Trolley, they will drive you down Main Street and stop at participating businesses for trick or treating. The buses will depart from the Conference Center at 5 pm. Trick or treating is from 5 pm to 7 pm.

Just in case your kids don’t get enough candy while trick or treating, stop by our favorite candy stores in town. Satisfy that sweet tooth, at least until Thanksgiving, and grab an old-fashioned soda and jelly beans from Red River Candy Company or step into The Candy Crate once you’ve checked into your property.

Red River Haunted House

The Red River Haunted House is taking place on October 30th and 31st at The Community House. The $5 entry fee will go to the First Responders in Red River. The Hauntings begin at 6:30 pm sharp, so don’t be late! Creep through the halls with terrifying sights and loud screams. Scream at the top of your lungs with your family and friends this Halloween night!

Costume Contest in Red River

For those over the age of 21, you can have fun too! Dress up and head out to the Motherlode Saloon or the Bull O’ the Woods for an adult only Halloween Party!

Everyone who dresses up as the spookiest or has head-turning costumes will head over to Noisy Water Winery on Tuesday, October 31 from 2-6:30 pm to be entered into the best costume contest. Winners will be announced on November 1st!

The 3rd Annual Marshal Office Halloween Costume Photo Contest will be held on Red River Marshal’s Office Facebook page. Check their page for contest rules when it gets closer to Halloween.

Children’s Halloween Carnival in Red River

Join our town in benefiting the Red River Valley Charter School on Saturday, November 4th from 3-6 pm at the Conference Center. There will be carnival games, a silent auction, snacks, prizes, music, and more. Dress up in your costumes and help us raise money for our school! This event is open to everyone in the Enchanted Circle. 

A Red River Harvest Party

Celebrate fall with snacks, drinks, and activities at Noisy Water Winery on Monday, October 30th beginning at 2 pm til 6! Enjoy spiced apple wine, specialty boards with caramel fudge apples and live music!
